Getting Your site on GoogleStep 1: Optimize SiteHow to optimize your website to get the best results to drive traffic to your site. Make a descriptive title for each page of your website that describe the content of that page. This is the title that will appear in the search results. Next, you will need to make a meta tag. A meta tag usually appears under the descriptive title of your page in the search results. Use a description that depicts the contents of your page and use words that are in the content of your page. One of the most important parts to getting your sites in the google search results are keywords. Keywords are what people enter into the search box and the results that appear relevant to that keyword. So, you will want to choose keywords that are relevant to your site. Some companies advertise getting your site on the top of search engines for a fee. I believe this is unnecessary as they will have you pick a keyword that describes your site and they get your site on the top when someone searches for that keyword. So if you were to pick the keyword "Jbt Inc" for your business they would have no problem getting it on the top. That is not a common keyword. My point is before you go paying to be on the top of search engines make sure you have the keywords on your site. A lot of people do not realize this is what they are missing and therefore there site does not come up in search results. If you have a business you are promoting a flooring company, you would want to enter key words relevant to flooring. If users are searching for flooring you will want to use keywords such as "how to install wood flooring" or "buy inexpensive flooring". Be specific. The more specific you are the more likely you will be ranked higher for that particular keyword. If you were to just use the keyword "flooring" tons of sites would come up in search results. You will also want these keywords somewhere in the beginning of your page. Once
you have come up with your keywords you will need to enter them into
your site. You will have to check with your web host on where to enter
the keywords. Step 2: Submit SiteOnce you have created and optimized your site you will need to submit your site to search engines, such as Google, Yahoo and MSN. If you fail to submit your site your site will not show up in search results. Before you submit your site make sure you have followed step 1. Once you have submitted your site it can take several weeks for your site to appear. Be patient it will take a little time. I did not start making money overnight it took time and patience. If you really want to beef up the traffic to your site until gets on google join paid advertising sites like Google Adwords and Yahoo Search Marketing. You can set your bid for how much you are willing to pay per click for advertising. Step 3: Advertise Since it was going to take a while I started other practices to get my site out there. I joined sites like twitter, facebook and dig to promote my site. Start a blog to blog about your site and/or business to help get it out there. I also joined link exchange but soon found out that joining link exchanges may hurt my site if not done right. If you join a link exchange it will benefit you more to only exchange with sites that are ranked higher on google. Another way to advertise your site is email marketing. Collect email addresses from your site visitors with a "join my list" signup on your website. Then, easily create and send compelling email newsletters, promotions and announcements to keep them coming back.
